What are Codex Pets?

Codex Pets are animated companion packages for OpenAI Codex. They use a pet.json manifest and a spritesheet so Codex can show a small status companion while work is running, waiting, finished, or ready for review.

How do I install a Codex pet from Coding Pets?

Open a pet page, download the ZIP package, and extract it into ~/.codex/pets/<pet-id> on macOS or Linux, or %USERPROFILE%\.codex\pets\<pet-id> on Windows. Each detail page includes copyable install commands.

What files are included in a Codex pet package?
